Did you know…

We also act for clients who may want to object to planning proposals neighbouring their houses, land or property?

We make representations to planning applications on behalf of clients all over the country. In the past, these have covered many different levels and scales of development - ranging from objections to multi-million pound mixed-use redevelopment in the heart of London to small domestic extensions in the Midlands.

Where clients are concerned about a development that may affect them, we objectively assess the submitted development proposals on their behalf and advise whether we consider there are sound planning grounds to object. If appropriate, we write letters of objection on their behalf. We have also attended Planning Committees where we have presented the objections to Members. Recently, we have successfully argued for neighbours against schemes in London and the South Downs National Park – the latter application was subsequently refused by the National Park Authority’s Planning Committee against their Planning Officer’s support of the proposal.

Whilst not all our objections for clients result in refusals of planning permission, our involvement in reviewing and where appropriate commenting on or objecting to planning applications has prompted amendments being requested by councils to planning submissions to make them more acceptable to our clients, as well as securing revised/ additional conditions on any planning permissions granted.
