Cannock Chase District Council has launched a new Call for Sites as part of the preparation of its New Local Plan 2026–2046.

The process opened on Monday 6 July 2026 and closes at 5pm on Monday 10 August 2026.

This is an important opportunity for landowners, developers, site promoters and other interested parties to submit land for consideration through the new Local Plan process. The Council is also asking for updates on existing SHLAA and ELAA sites, including sites already allocated in the previous Local Plan 2018–2040.

A key point is that even allocated sites still need to be updated through this process to confirm their availability and deliverability. Where existing SHLAA or ELAA sites are not reconfirmed, the Council may assume that they are no longer being promoted and may treat them as unavailable.

All submitted sites will be incorporated into the 2027 SHLAA/ELAA and may help shape future housing, employment and development opportunities across the District.

For landowners, this is a time-sensitive opportunity to ensure land interests are properly represented at an early stage in the plan-making process.

Tyler Parkes can assist with site reviews, promotion strategy and Call for Sites submissions.
