Success for 6 new dwellings in Hall Green

We have been successful in obtaining planning permission from Birmingham City Council for our client Kingswood Properties for the erection of 6 new dwellings on Highfield Road in Hall Green.

The site itself comprises existing garden land to the rear of four properties, whose gardens extend to a depth of different lengths. The site is located immediately adjacent to Yardley Wood Railway Station, which provides excellent and easy access to frequent rail services to Birmingham, Stratford and the Black Country. It also has excellent bus links and is located close to a local shopping parade. It is therefore a highly sustainable location, and will be entirely appropriate for residential development.

The development proposes the erection of 6 dwellings which will consist of four 3-bed houses, comprised of a terrace of three, and one detached dwelling, together with two detached 4-bed properties. The proposal has been thoughtfully considered and designed to ensure that it can be successfully integrated into the established built-environment to help contribute to the character and appearance of the area. It will also deliver much needed housing for Birmingham in an area with high local demand. The successful scheme was designed by Ritchie and Ritchie Architects LLP.

The proposal was originally for 7 dwellings, however, the planning officer had some concerns regarding the separation distances between the plots and existing dwellings which resulted in the amendment of the scheme to 6 dwellings. We stayed in close contact with the Local Authority during the determination of the application which resulted in the positive outcome and approval of the scheme.
