Stratford-on-Avon District Council has given notice that they have resolved to adopt their Core Strategy and Main Modifications at a meeting on 11 July 2016. The Council is currently preparing a final Core Strategy document and is intended to publish this together with a revised Policies Map by the end of July 2016. The document was subject to examination in Public by the independent Planning Inspector, Pete Drew, appointed by the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government. In his report, issued on 20 June 2016, he concluded that with the modifications put forward the Core Strategy was capable of adoption, satisfying the requirements of Section 20(5) of the 2004 Act and meeting the criteria for soundness set out in the National Planning Policy Framework. In resolving to adopt the Core Strategy the Council agreed to incorporate all changes recommended by the Inspector. The Core Strategy sets out the spatial vision for the District and establishes the strategic context for development decisions in the period up to 2031. It replaces the saved policies of the Stratford-on-Avon Local Plan Review 1996-2011.
