We have secured consent for an extension to a warehouse for SBP Builders’ Merchants in Stirchley, Birmingham, on SBP's Mayfield Road site. This follows our hard-fought previous consent to erect three new warehouses on their site opposite, on Pershore Road.

The project was particularly complex due to being situated next to a residential area, where any new construction has to be extremely sensitive to the daylight received by existing neighbouring windows and the gardens of surrounding houses.

SBP needed to expand warehouse capacity for their rapidly growing business, without relocating away from their current established site. Our knowledge of strict planning constraints allowed us to put together a design to increase the roof space, adding nearly 600m³ of usable space for racking, simultaneously improving the appearance of the building in the streetscape.
