Dudley ‘Call for Sites’ Up and Running
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is currently running a ‘Call for Sites’, until 17th March 2023.
The Council agreed on 14th November 2022 to start work on a new Dudley Local Plan, following the decision not to proceed with the Black Country Plan. As part of this review, the Council need to identify potential development land to meet the future needs of the borough up to 2041.
The Council are specifically asking for submissions for sites that may be suitable for the following uses:
· Residential (over 10 dwellings or 0.25ha)
· Employment uses – over 0.4ha
· Commercial/leisure
· Community uses
· Sites for gypsy and traveller pitches
· Local green spaces
· Biodiversity net gain offsetting sites.
Any sites previous submitted under the Black Country Plan call for sites process do NOT need to be resubmitted unless new information is available in relation to these sites, which the Council may now need to consider.
By way of background, a new Local Development Scheme was agreed by Cabinet on 26th January 2023 Dudley Council's Local Development Scheme (LDS), setting out the timetable for the Dudley Local Plan 2041 and other planning policy documents. It states that the Council will be holding a public consultation on the Dudley Local Plan (Reg 18) in Summer 2023. At that point members of the public and other stakeholders will have the opportunity to comment on both the proposed Draft Plan policies and proposed land allocations.
If you have any sites in Dudley Borough you would like us to put forward on your behalf, or would like more information, please come back to our Planning Team by Friday 24th February.
