On 7th December 2021, a report considered by Lichfield District Council’s Cabinet recommended submission of the Draft Lichfield Local Plan 2040 to the Planning Inspectorate for Examination. However, the decision was deferred pending a review of the polices and proposals to ensure they accord with the Councils’ wider climate change and carbon neutral aspirations. At this stage, it is not known how long this process will take, or whether it will be necessary to undertake another Regulation 19 consultation prior to submission to the Planning Inspectorate for Examination.
