The three councils of Wychavon, Malvern Hills and Worcester have commenced public consultation on the ‘Preferred Options’ of the South Worcestershire Development Plan (SWDP) review.

This is an important stage in the review and seeks to show where an identified government target to build another 14,000 new homes across the SWDP area up to 2041 will take place.

Public comments are invited on the proposed strategy of suggesting the development should take place:

• within new or expanded towns at Worcestershire Parkway; Throckmorton Airfield; and Rushwick

• 810 new homes on various sites around Worcester, 730 at Droitwich Spa, 200 in Evesham, 880 in Malvern, 600 in Pershore and 60 in Tenbury Wells.

• More than 900 new homes for villages across Wychavon and 390 within Malvern Hills District.

• another 273 hectares of employment land to allow for the growth of businesses and job creation across the SWDP area.

Comments must be made no later than 5pm Monday 16th December.
