We are delighted to have obtained planning permission on behalf of our client Farncombe Estate for the provision of 5 double Shepherd’s Huts to be used for hotel accommodation as part of the existing Fish Hotel.

The Estate, which also comprises the award winning Foxhill Manor Hotel and Dormy House Hotel, is located near the village of Broadway in the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB).

The Hilly Huts, designed by Blackdown Shepherds Huts, are located to the west of the Fish Hotel, in an area covered by woodland and vegetation adjacent to an existing lake.

The scheme was subject to pre-application discussions with the Council and supported by ecological reports and tree assessments which confirmed that there would be no impact on the existing trees and wildlife subject to carefully considering the detailed location of the Huts.

We argued that the proposal was fully compliant with approved planning policies which support additional tourism facilities in rural areas. In addition, the proposal would improve and enhance the Estate as an attractive and exciting tourist destination and would be in keeping with the existing development on site.

The Council agreed with our assessment and subsequently approved the proposal.
