The councils of Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton are currently carrying out a ‘Call for Sites’ to try to identify land suitable for residential and employment development to meet anticipated future growth needs for the area. The closing date for information on potential development sites to be submitted for consideration is 5pm Friday 8th September 2017. The ‘Call for Sites’ process is running in parallel with the Black Country Core Strategy ‘Issues and Options’ consultation; any representations on the ‘Issues and Options’ consultation are also required to be submitted by 8th September 2017.

The councils have evidence that there is a need to identify additional land for around 22,000 more homes in the Black Country up to 2036 and a need for an extra 300 hectares of employment land.

Alongside the Call for Sites, the four councils are also undertaking a Joint Green Belt Review as they anticipate that there will be a need to remove some land from the Green Belt for residential or employment development.

If you have a site, or sites, in any of the four local authority areas - Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall or Wolverhampton – or adjoining areas that you would like to be considered by the councils, please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
