Localism vs. submitted Core Strategies: an interesting question has cropped up at the examination into Bath and North East Somerset's Core Strategy. The Inspector has to grapple with submissions brought by an objector who is arguing that the duty to cooperate brought in by s112 Localism Act 2011 applies notwithstanding the fact that the core strategy was already submitted before the Act’s Royal Assent. Will there be a legal challenge brought by the objector? Watch this is space for the outcome – it has implications for local planning authorities as well as others interested in emerging local plans.
